Chef Gordon Rader, CEC, CCE, Program Director for Culinary Arts at Indian Hills Community College was inducted into Les Amis d’Escoffier Society of Chicago at the Mid America Club on Sunday, March 6th 2011.
Rader’s induction into the society as an honorary member celebrates his leadership and contributions to the American Culinary Federation, education, the foodservice industry and his local community.
Les Amis d’Escoffier Society is a non-for profit fraternity of true epicures and connoisseurs, which are dedicated to the propagation of high standards and ethics of the culinary profession. It was created to perpetuate the memory of the great culinary master, Auguste Escoffier and to promote a better understanding of and greater appreciation for the art of good living.
Rader mentioned that “this is a great honor for me and one that has been anticipated for more than 30 years. The real winners in this are my students as the new opportunities this honor will bring to them are priceless.”
Rader is also recognized as a Foodservice Management Professional by the National Restaurant Association, a recipient of the 2008 ACF Chef of the Year award from the Des Moines ACF chapter and a member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs.
